Perhaps due to a lack of friends growing up or due to the fact
they knew they had a sibling out there they never had the chance to meet .
He committed to keeping his presence small 、 as not to draw any attention
to himself 、 as normally the attention he received would come in the form
of bullying && harassment . His attempt to not draw attention would prove
detrimental in high school 、 when they attracted the attention of Sou Hiyori .
At first 、 they were enchanted by him . Hiyori was confident 、 assertive 、
decisive 、 independent : all of the things Shin wished he were . They
couldn't have been more honored to have been chosen as Hiyori's
object of affection . Soon after being befriended by him 、 they started
having a romantic relationship . But 、 unfortunately for them 、 Hiyori was
also insane 、 manipulative 、 obsessive 、 psychopathic 、 possessive 、
controlling && did I mention insane . Shin 、 unfortunately 、 wasn't
aware that Hiyori was previously stalking them 、 even going as far as
to pretend to go to their high school just to forcibly gain their trust .
Furthermore 、 they also quickly became codependent . It's not as
though they ever had a normal relationship to compare it to 、 or
even had any friends to escape to . Despite being terrified 、 they had
to have been fine with it . Regardless of the near constant torment 、 in
any form that it took 、 anything seemed to have been better than the
years of constant loneliness 、 although some days they felt lonelier then
than ever before . This continued until they graduated high school 、
when he suddenly disappeared on them . How were they supposed
to feel ? Relieved that they were free from their abuser ? Or sad that
their only other human connection was gone ? They were alone again .
He couldn't stand being by himself anymore . In addition to trying
to find his lost partner 、 he began seeking the company of other
people 、 despite his shy nature . Anyone that would see him for
even just one night was enough for the time they spent together .
This , as with most afab people 、 drew negative attention to himself
once again . Whether that came in the form of nasty words thrown
his way 、 or more violent means . It was just a price he had to pay .
Of course 、 this only fed his codependency issues 、 as well as his
crippling low self - esteem . Perhaps this new hobby of theirs was
a form of self - destruction after all . They withdrew into themself
again 、 but not entirely this time . They still had their moments of
weakness after all . They never really learned how to process any
of their trauma properly 、 or even a good coping mechanism .

certain death .
